Vlla spanje costa brava

There is no better place than Spain for a good dose of history that stretches far back into time.

Exhilarating Corridas in Spain

By Ricky Ponting at 2012-08-24 00:09:40
Anyone visiting Spain must be familiar with Corridas. This is one of the highlights for any tourist to Spain. There would be many sights and wonders concerning a Corrida. The main focus of the corridas is the paseillo where all interested parties would congregate as a spectator or participant.

The bull ring is an awesome and ancient spot that holds a great significance to all who are present in any way.

Ceremony

Those who are game to present themselves to the viewing public in the bullring would enter the ring in the full traditional attire of the matador. There would be two Alguacilillos riding on horses to present themselves to the event president to request for the symbolic handing over of the “puerta de los toriles” keys where the raging bulls are kept.

As the door of the cages open, the first bull would rush out to the bull ring to the delightful cheers of the spectators. There would be three parts to the bull ring event known as the tercios which would be indicated by horn signals.

Each corrida would have three toreros where every torero would have to overcome two bulls.

Bullfighting events

The corrida begins with the first part of the tercios; an experienced and skilled matador or bullfighter would make use of the capote to engage the savage bull into a rallied performance. The capote is a big piece of purple and yellow cloth to display the bullfighter’s grace in his skills and movement towards controlling the charging bull. Two picadors would soon enter the ring on horseback with an armed lance.

The second portion of the tercios is the la suerte de banderillas. There would appear three banderilleros who need to work together to push in banderillas into the back of the savage bull.

Finally, the third part of the tercios is the “suerte suprema” where the bullfighter takes a muleta which is a small piece of red cloth to manipulate the raging bull’s movement. The final act of domination by the matador comes with a show of his faena or mastery over the beast with the stabbing of the bull with a sword by the torero.

The crowd cheers wildly with delight to end the Corrida for the day.

Tradition

Bullfighting has been a steep tradition in vakantiehuisje spanje since days of old; it usually happens during the San Fermin fiesta in the early weeks of July every year. Large crowds flock the towns where these fiestas take place especially Pamplona where the sacred pilgrimage takes place.

Ernest Hemingway made this tradition international through his best seller “The Sun Also Rises”.

Club Villamar offers hundreds of miles of beautiful beaches, rich cultural history and by far the most popular holiday destination, just visit villa pollenca and know more about us. Also read my articles at : Ricky Ponting's article and do check out my bookmarks at Ricky Ponting's bookmarks.
